Simply the church of the New Testament
A family of Christians whose lives have been changed by the love of Christ. We meet every Sunday to sing, pray, break bread and study God's word together.

Who we are
We are a group of people whose lives have been touched and changed by the love of Christ. We have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and our goal is to please Him in everything we do.
All the things that you see us do are based on the teachings of our Lord Jesus and the examples of the early church as found in the New Testament. Simply put, we are striving to be the church that is found in the New Testament.

A church that belongs to Christ
The Bangalore Central Church of Christ is a group of Christians who share a common love for our Lord Jesus Christ. We strive to follow His teachings and share His love with the world around us.
Who started this church?
We believe we are part of the same church that Jesus is building when He said “I will build My church and the gates of hades shall not overpower it.” It is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the corner stone.
What are we called?
As disciples of Christ we bear His name and are simply called Christians, just as the disciples in the New Testament were. We use “church of Christ” as a description of who we are rather than as a title. We are the church that belongs to Christ.
Not a denomination
We are an independent local congregation with the word of God as the sole authority for all that we teach and do. There are thousands of such congregations around the world, each taking its authority from the Bible alone.

Jesus Christ is the head of the church. Elders oversee the work, deacons serve, and preachers and evangelists teach the word of God. We have no special titles and call each other by name, or simply brother and sister.

What we believe
The Bible is our manual for living and the basis for all we believe. Here is a summary of what it teaches.
God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. There is only one God, but He exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, co-equal with the Father. He was born of the virgin Mary and lived a sinless human life. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross, and arose bodily from the dead after three days. He ascended to heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the throne of God and reigns over His kingdom. He will return again someday to take believers home to heaven with Him.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with God the Father and God the Son. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of their baptism, and gives power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.
The Bible
The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is God's inspired and authoritative word. The human authors wrote as they were guided by the Holy Spirit. Since God's word is the only completely reliable and truthful authority, we accept the Bible as our manual for living and the basis for all we believe.
Salvation
Salvation is offered to us through the grace of God in the person of our Saviour Jesus Christ. We respond by accepting Christ as Lord: we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, repent of our sins, confess faith in Him, and are baptised by immersion in water for the forgiveness of sins, to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and to be added to the Church.
Christians
Christians are disciples of Christ who have accepted salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and are committed to following His teachings in their daily life.
The Christian life
The Christian life is lived by faith and trust in Christ and fellowship with Him, for He is “the way, the truth, and the life.” It shows itself in service to God and to people of every position in life, summed up in the two great commandments: love God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind, and love your neighbour as yourself.
The Church
The Church, described in Scripture as Christ's body, is made up of all people who have accepted Christ in faith and surrendered their lives to Him in baptism.
The local church
A local congregation is a group of Christians who meet in a particular place on a regular basis. Each congregation is independent and autonomous. Members meet on the first day of the week to worship God, break bread in remembrance of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus, build one another up, contribute to the work of the church and have fellowship. The local church carries out evangelism, edification, benevolence and discipline under the oversight of elders, through deacons, ministers and evangelists.

Fight the Good Fight
Understanding who the real enemy is, and standing firm in the Armour of God.

IGNITE 2025 marked a significant milestone as the 5th All India Camp for Church of Christ youth in India, with 110 participants from states across India. After feedback from the year before asking for a longer camp, it was extended to five days.
The theme focused on who the real enemy is and what believers are truly fighting against in daily life. Participants were encouraged to face challenges with the Armour of God: the Helmet of Salvation, Breastplate of Righteousness, Belt of Truth, Shield of Faith and Sword of the Spirit.
The Igniters were divided into six groups, each with two facilitators, for discussions, interactive sessions and a Bible quiz on the book of Luke. Activities included painting a flag to represent the Armour of God, researching each piece of Roman armour, riddles, a treasure hunt and a Friendship Night with coloured ribbons. Each team built one piece of a full set of armour from scratch, which was assembled and tried on by Bro. Ringdai.
Guest speakers led life-skill sessions on ‘Who Are We Fighting Against’, social media, etiquette, pornography and mental health, helping the Igniters approach real-life challenges from a biblical point of view.
Outdoors there was a water balloon battle between paired teams and a trip to nearby Nandi Hills to enjoy God's creation. A Cultural Night in traditional dress celebrated unity and diversity, and the camp closed with Sunday worship.
This Is The Way
Staying grounded in God's word when faced with life's choices.

IGNITE 2024, the 4th All India Youth Camp, brought together around 101 participants from 8 states under the oversight of Bangalore Central Church of Christ.
The theme emphasised staying grounded in God's word when faced with life's choices, and living a life aligned with God's will. Six groups discussed “Jesus' Way” and “The Way of the World”, using practical examples to compare the two paths.
On the third day, themed “This is My Way”, participants drew roadmaps of the choices they will make in life. Teams also made signboards for “This is the Way” and “This is Not the Way”.
Alongside the Bible lessons there were quizzes, games, a movie night and a surprise on-the-spot food competition. One key piece of feedback was a request for a longer camp to allow more time for fellowship.
Be the Light
“I am the Light of the world” and “You are the light of the world.”

IGNITE 2023 was the 3rd All India Camp for Church of Christ youths, with close to 100 participants from all over India and some from outside India.
The theme was based on Jesus' life (“I am the Light of the world”) and our response to His teaching (“You are the light of the world”).
This was my first experience in Ignite and I loved to be a part of it. The quiz based on the book of Matthew enhanced my knowledge of Christ as the light of the world. I gained an understanding of the importance of teamwork through the fun-filled games and activities.
It was also a golden opportunity to meet the brethren in Christ around the world and discuss the word of God together. Until then let the light shine and glory be to God, the Father in Heaven.

Let Your Light Shine
Learning from Paul's missionary journeys.

The annual camp for Church of Christ youths in India brought together about 75 participants from all over India, in keeping with our vision of triggering their faith to achieve great things for the Lord.
The theme was based on Paul's missionary journeys. The youths drew the journeys on a large map and then planned their own missionary journey on a map of India.
Apart from Bible learning, group discussions, team activities, a quiz and a panel discussion, the youths enjoyed adventure activities run by trained staff and volunteers.
The First IGNITE
Where it all began: four days that sparked a yearly camp.

IGNITE 2018, the All India Camp for Church of Christ Youths, welcomed 50 participants from 7 states: from BBC church, Mysore, Mumbai, Kochi, Trivandrum, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the North East. Saju George and David Martin attended as observers, along with brethren from the Chennai church.
The youths enjoyed four days of learning, group discussions, team activities, a quiz, a panel discussion, singing, skits and a Sunday worship led entirely by the participants. Our congregation joined them for that worship at the camp.
The youths of our church who organised the camp had an amazing experience putting it together. We thank God for the opportunity for young people to trigger their faith for Christ and form friendships with fellow Christian youths.
Radiant

The Purple Road
Faith, work and wellbeing for the working women in our families, through the life of Lydia.

On January 26th, Bangalore Central Church of Christ hosted the first-ever Radiant conference. Envisioned as an annual tradition, Radiant is designed to encourage, uplift and spiritually strengthen women while fostering deep fellowship within our community.
This year's theme focused on the working women in our families. The planning team was drawn to Lydia from the Book of Acts, a seller of purple cloth from Thyatira. Her few verses show how a woman can balance spiritual devotion, physical well-being, professional growth and relationships, and become a blessing to her household, church and community.
The day opened with a warm meet and greet, singing led by our sisters, an opening prayer and an ice-breaker, then moved through morning and afternoon sessions with lunch and fellowship in between.
